General Election 2017

We are delighted to have Siobhan Baillie as Theresa May's Conservatives' candidate for Bermondsey and Old Southwark.

  1. A strong record of public service with the ability to deliver.

I am a Conservative Councillor in London Borough of Camden, a Primary School Governor and am active in a number of local resident groups.  I recently chaired a review of adolescent mental health services and my recommendations are being implemented to improve the lives of young people.

I am not afraid to take a vocal stance about issues in the town hall and in local papers, who recently reported that I am a councillor that Labour 'feared'.

  2. Someone who has built a successful professional career in the private sector.

I am proud of my career in law - spanning 17 years. I began as a secretary and worked my way up to become a fully qualified solicitor.  I studied at night and went to law school at the weekends whilst conducting a busy caseload specialising in family law.

  3. Experience of working for a charity, working alongside government departments to shape policy.

I am Policy Manager for a charity that specialises in helping individuals to develop the skills to strengthen relationships. We have government contracts so I work closely with the Department for Work and Pensions, Ministry of Justice, Ministers and MPs on campaigns and policy.

  4. I have tonnes of energy, plenty of campaigning experience and the ability to win support.

I am excited to bring my experience campaigning for the Conservative party in local, GLA, Mayoral and national campaigns to the constituency of Bermondsey and Old Southwark.

I recently ran the London Marathon to raise money for a mental health charity, which drew backing from a wide range of people - including cross party!

I look forward to pounding the streets with the members and supporters of the Conservatives in Bermondsey and Old Southwark.  Together, I am confident that we can make significant gains in the constituency.
